COVID-19 Severe Blood Shortage
While public health officials work to limit the spread of the #coronavirus (#COVID19), we're asking for your help with another potential public health issue: a severe shortage of blood for patients. Healthy donors are urged to make an appt w/ the @RedCross rcblood.org/appt
A blood shortage could impact surgical patients, accident victims, new moms with complicated childbirths or people fighting cancer here in our community. One of the most important things you can do to ensure we don’t have another healthcare crisis on top of the coronavirus is to give blood.
Donating blood is a safe process, and Red Cross employees are following thorough safety protocols to help prevent the spread of any type of disease or infection. Over the past month, out of an abundance of caution, the Red Cross has put additional precautions in place at blood drives to further protect the health and safety of blood donors.
If you are healthy and feeling well, please make an appointment to donate as soon as possible. You can find a blood drive near you by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or using the Red Cross Blood Donor App today. Donors are asked to make an appointment before showing up to donate in order to manage the flow of donors appropriately in alignment with social distancing practices.
Donations will help replenish the blood supply and ensure that blood continues to be available for patients with serious medical needs now and over the coming weeks.
Give Blood April 18th by appointment only from 9-2PM. Send to your family and friends that are willing to give and have them click on the link below to schedule their appointment. They will fill up fast as this drive is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. It is safe and they will receive a FREE T-Shirt and much more!
